NBCH Releases White Paper and Hosts Webinar to Help Employers Tackle Challenges of Rising Health Care Costs While Improving Health

“Tailoring Health Care Benefits to Your Employees” provides recommended solutions for managing health care benefits

WASHINGTON – June 14, 2010 – A new white paper examining the challenges of providing health care benefits in light of health reform and the current economy as well as offering proven solutions was released today by theNational Business Coalition on Health. Publicly available, the “Tailoring Health Care Benefits to Your Employees” white paper can be accessed on NBCH’s website.

“Health care spending in the U.S. is not sustainable and employers and their covered employees are footing a very large portion of the bill,” said Andrew Webber, president and CEO of NBCH. “In this environment it’s critical that health care purchasers adopt value-based benefit design strategies to improve employee health and make every dollar spent on health care count.”

The white paper features research from the Integrated Benefits Institute and American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, among others. The information also examines available assessment tools and cost calculators, the importance of health risk assessments, using national health statistics for benchmarking, benefits of working with national health care agencies, and educating and communicating programs to employees. Featured case studies are also included from the Business Health Care Group of Southeast Wisconsin and the FrontPath Health Coalition in northwest Ohio.
